Lake House Dreaming
A dated lake house primary bath reimagined as a calming, spa-inspired retreat with classic Hudson House warmth and a few playful moments woven in. By removing the bulky alcove tub, columns, and visual barriers, the original footprint was opened up into a more gracious, airy space without adding square footage.
The new bath centers around a sculptural freestanding soaking tub set beneath tall windows and soft drapery, creating a quiet focal point that feels equal parts serene and dramatic. Natural stone floors, a richly patinated tub, brass plumbing, and layered lighting bring warmth and depth, while the wallpapered vestibule adds a charming transition from the primary bedroom into the bath.
In the shower, glossy handmade tile, a stone bench, frameless glass, and brass hardware continue the spa-like feel while keeping the design textural and collected. A soft neutral palette, green accents, tailored millwork, and carefully chosen finishes make the space feel relaxed, refined, and ready to spend a day in!
